Environmental Sustainability
Northeast Imaging acknowledges that climate change is a serious threat the world is currently facing and we each have a responsibility to address the issue to achieve a net zero future. There is a common goal in both the health and climate agendas to achieve health equity.
We are committed to:
- Minimising our environmental impact by reducing waste and energy consumption, and recycling of materials
- Implementing environmental initiatives to reduce our carbon footprint
- Encourage the use of more sustainable and ethical products
- Reduce greenhouse gas emissions through the more efficient use of electricity, fuel and heat
- Conservation of water, reduce and manage waste
Our current initiatives in place include:
- Fully electronic requesting and reporting system with zero use of paper
- Online meeting and conference ability to minimise travelling
- Reporting workstations utilising highly energy efficient multimodality displays
- Utilising LED lighting where relevant
- Service level agreement with our medical supplier and ensuring they are aligned with our environmental sustainability initiatives. Our medical supplier is fully WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) compliant and certified (Directive 2012/19/EU)
- Encourage the efficient use of electricity and heat during office hours and purchase renewable electricity whenever available
- Encourage reusable coffee cups and water bottles to reduce single use plastic
